Africa Becomes ONE!

Umoja Federation is a newly formed coalition of the African states with the ambition to become a major world power. The continent customarily known for its socio-economic and political misfortunes is now on the move. Old pathologies that have plagued Africa do not disappear at once, nonetheless. Corrupt leaders undermine Umoja in their quest to retain old privileges. The ‘Scramble for Africa’ is also still alive and well as foreign imperial powers seek to maintain influence over the continent. The new African leaders must navigate these existential challenges if the Umoja Federation is to remain a sustainable reality. Any wrong move could easily undo this nascent union and spiral Africa back into even greater chaos. Will Umoja stand or crumble?

The celebratory mood in Addis Ababa is extravagant as Africans from all over the continent come to witness the ‘Declaration of Umoja’, marking the birth of a new nation: the Umoja Federation. It is a coalition of African states under one government.
While Africa blissfully celebrates her transformation, corruption and imperialism continue in the shadow. The African Investigations Department (AFID) seeks to uncover the murder of one of its senior agents while also dealing with terrorist activities that seek to undo the hopes of the new Africa.

MARCELLIN MUTUYIMANA

Author

I am a Rwandan-American writer and educator based in the Middle East. I became a refugee of war in the aftermath of the genocide in Rwanda in 1994. I later migrated to the United States where I earned a Bachelors’ degree in Electrical Engineering and a Masters’ degree in Mathematics Education. In addition to my background in teaching and ministry training, authoring is a side hobby I have developed over the years. I undertook the writing of this book series after years of pondering on the nature and impact of socioeconomic inequalities I have either experienced or witnessed around the world. My literary influence in the comics fiction genre has been Jean Van Hamme, the Belgian author whose works are masterpieces.  As I write this book series, I seek to inspire Africans to reimagine a more glorious Africa. I also hope this series will entertain readers as they navigate their way through the twists and turns of the various plots.

Africa is the world’s second-largest and second-most populous continent, after Asia in both cases. At about 30.3 million km² including adjacent islands, it covers 6% of Earth’s total surface area and 20% of its land area. With 1.3 billion people, it accounts for about 16% of the world’s human population.
